Partha Skips Answer, Accuses Opposition for Violence


Kolkata: Addressing a press meet at Trinamool Bhavan, TMC general secretary and education minister Parth Chatterjee condemned the violence and attack on media during the ongoing West Bengal civic polls on Saturday.

Partha said, “We condemn the incidents of violence against media. Chief Minister has ordered an inquiry.” He further added, “The work of media is to gather news. They have to do it.”

However, instead of answering for the violence as TV footage clearly captured manu Trinamool leaders intimidating voters including Bidhannagar MLA Sujit Bose captured on camera threatening a lady journalist, he accused opposition for the violence.

Praising CM Mamata Banerjee Parth sadid that people have full faith in her and she will work for the betterment of people. He said,” One political party brought outsiders from Jharkhand for polling in Asansol-Jamuria belt.”

At least 11 journaliosts from e5 media houses in Bengal had come under brutal assault from alleged goons while trying to capture footage of rigging in pooling booths in Bidhan Nagar and Salt Lake.
