Kolkata: The State Education Department on Sunday announced that Education Minister Partha Chatterjee has agreed to hold a meeting with the agitating SSC candidates who are holding an indefinite hunger strike from the last thirteen days.
The Ministry’s decision came after many of the protesting candidates fall severely sick. As per the reports, the meeting will be held around 12 noon on Monday.
Earlier on February 3, the Minister had urged the candidates to suspend the strike which was rejected by the candidates.
The Education Minister had earlier said that around 90 percent of the protesting candidates don’t have B.Ed degree as per the regulations of SSC.
He expressed solidarity with the candidates but said the appointments will be made as per the rules and regulation of SSC.
The candidates are expecting positive response from the Minister on Monday, but kept silent on the B.Ed issue.
