Kolkata: Kolkata police will approach High Court appealing the increase of punishment for the arrested rapists of the park street rape case.
According to LalBazar police Station, they have decide to appeal to High Court for increasing the punishment of the three arrested rapist to maximum. They will try to do it before Christmas. They have already discussed matters with lawyers.
This decision is expected to make a new turn for the case.
The Bankshal court on Friday announced 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1 Lakh each for three convicts of Park Street rape case Roman Khan, Sumit Bajaj and Naseer Khan. A huge police force has been deployed in he court campus to contain any unwanted situation.
The court in Kolkata on Thursday held all five accused guilty in the Park Street rape case. However, two accused Muhammad Ali Khan and Kader Khan are still at large.
The court pronounced Kader Khan, Muhammad Ali, Ruman Khan, Sumit Bajaj and Naseer Khan guilty of rape.
Suzzette Jordan, the rape survivor who went public with her identity, was raped by a group of men inside a moving car on Park Street and its vicinity on the night of February 6, 2012.
