Kolkata: West Bengal Panchayat and Rural Development minister Subrata Mukherjee on Saturday said that election will be held in the month of may and June this year. The term of Panchayat body,Panchayat Samiti and District Council will end at may month so the election will be held at after this. Subrata Mukherjee also added that the date Will be announced after getting green signal from Mamata Banerjee.
According to Nabanna Sources, state govt has already completed all things about Panchayat election. State also started training those who are in election duty at all districts. This year Panchayat election is very much important for ruling party.
Panchayat elections in the state will help the BJP party gauge its preparedness on the ground. The party expects to make massive gains, both in terms of votes as well as seat share in the state.
The panchayat poll this year in West Bengal will be crucial as it may be seen as an indicator of voting patterns in the next general election of 2019.
