Kolkata: The West Bengal government has issued another notification in Panchayat case on Friday evening, the notification has been issue after the apex court gave it’s verdict in favour of the state.
In the three-tier Panchayat election of West Bengal that was held in the month of May this year, TMC candidates won almost 34% seats of the state. After that opposition party lodged complaint. On Friday after the Supreme Court announced it’s verdict which went in favour of the West Bengal Government and Election Commission. The 34% uncontested win will be valid.
In the verdict, the Supreme Court said that the State Election Commission will have to issue notice to the 34% winning candidates. According to the administrative source, following the apex court’s directive the notification was published on Friday evening.
Earlier, the Supreme Court did not allow to give the certificates to the winning candidates. The apex court also said that hearing of the case will start after the voting is held in remaining 66 percent of the seats.
