Panchayat 2018: TMC Activist Shot Dead In Goyalpokhor


Raiganj & Maldaha: West Bengal State Election marked several first in their checklist. Several political unrest are coming out throughout the election process. Now, one TMC activist has been shot dead in political war. Husband of the TMC candidate also shot dead in the incident. The incident took place in Panjipara gram panchayat of Ibrahimpur in North Dinajpur.

According to police and local source, minister Golam Rabbani held a meeting in Goyalpokhor block-1 in Ibrahimpur. It took time to finish the meeting. Meanwhile Forward block held a meeting on the same road. TMC claimed, CPM has attacked on them. CPM has been alleged in the incident. Police arrested three CPM candidates after preliminary investigation.

One among arrested is the husband of CPM candidate. Though left front has denied the allegation and blamed police for attack them. A 60 years old Mohammad Mahajir has been dead amid the clash. Mohammad Sabir, husband of Ibrahimpur block-13 TMC candidate Asima Begam has been wounded in the clash. He is currently admitted in Islampur Mahakuma Hospital.

On the other hand, election chaos has spread in Maldaha. Muchia gram panchayat-3 TMC candidate Kakali Das Tarafdar’s husband Gobinda Das faced attack on his way to home from campaign. They put the fingered up to Debkumar Ballav, husband of BJP candidate Rita Ballav. Gobinda Das has been attacked in front of the house of BJP candidate. Gang of mobs has attacked them with sharp arms and iron rods. TMC people came as screamed. FIR has been filed in Maldaha police station. Police initiated a probe on that.
