Palestinian Rocket Hits Israel

Jerusalem: A rocket fired by Palestinians in the Gaza Strip hit southern Israel on Sunday night but fell on open ground, the Israeli army said in a statement.”No injuries have been reported,” the official said.

The official also said that the camps were empty at the time and nobody was injured.Salafist militants claiming links to the Islamic State group have said they were behind recent rocket fire from the Gaza Strip, but Israel holds Hamas responsible for all such incidents.

Hamas is the Islamist movement that runs Gaza, which has been hit by three wars with Israel since 2008, including last summer’s devastating conflict that left more than 100,000 homeless and killed more than 2,200.
