Porbandar: 12 Indian fishermen were arrested by Pakistani Maritime security agency and two boats were seized near the international maritime boundary. The incident comes close on the heels of a suspected terror boat being intercepted by the Indian Coast Guard.
According to reports, the two boats named Jhelelal and Jalram were captured by Pakistan on Saturday night. It is being reported that the two Indian boats were taken into custody in retaliation of intercepting the Pakistani boat which blew itself up 200 nautical miles from the Gujarat coast.
According to an official of Gujarat based NGO ‘Sagar Bharti’, “The Pakistan Maritime Security Agency apprehended 12 Indian fishermen along with two boats off the Gujarat coast in the Arabian sea this afternoon”. The official added that after returning to the coast the fishermen told that two boats were apprehended by Pakistani authorities and were taken to Karachi port.
The coast guard officials said that they were investigating the matter.
