Pak Violates Ceasefire In Rajouri, 1 Soldier Martyred

Jammu: An army jawan has been killed in firing by Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri Sector.

Pakistan has increased the number of ceasefire violations along the Line of Control or LoC ever since India’s surgical strikes on launch pads or staging areas for terrorists in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Major ceasefire violations took place on 3, 4 and 5 October along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu region.

On October 5, Pakistani troops violated ceasefire thrice and resorted to heavy firing and mortar shelling to target several Indian posts and civilian areas in three sectors in Poonch and Rajouri districts, provoking retaliation by the Indian Army.

The army last week said that its “guard is up” and it will reply to any eventuality.

Last year, 16 civilians were killed and 71 others injured in 405 incidents of cross-border firing by Pakistan.
