Pak Violates Ceasefire, Initiates Mortar Shelling Along J&K’s LoC


Srinagar: The Pakistan Army on Saturday initiated indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics and mortars in Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district along the Line of Control (LoC).

The Indian Army retaliated strongly and effectively to the unprovoked ceasefire violation.

Pakistan initiated the initiated indiscriminate firing at around 8: 30 pm and exchange of gunfire continues.

With Pakistani troops firing 82mm and 120 mortars on the Indian side and the Indian troops equally retaliating, the shelling between the two sides was intense. The explosion of shells was audible even in Poonch town, locals said, adding that they see the sky lit with mortar shells.

The loss of property or casualty on the India side was not known till now.
