Pak Violates Ceasefire in Poonch Again


Srinagar: In another provoking incident the Pakistani rangers have violated ceasefire on the international border in Poonch sector of Kashmir. The Pak forces opened heavy fire including the use of heavy mortars on the Indian posts on around 10:30 PM on Sunday. Firing across the LoC began around 9.30 pm in Krishan Ghati and Mandi in Poonch district, Balakot, and Palanwala sectors in Rajouri and Jammu respectively. Indian forces have opened retaliatory fire and the exchange of fire is still on.

Earlier the day Pakistani Rangers resorted to unprovoked firing at the BSF posts in the Kotranka area of the R.S. Pura sector at around 1:30 Am. The BSF retaliated to the firing by the Pak forces and the exchange of fire continued for nearly one hour till 2:30 Am.

No casualty has been reported from the Indian side. Nearly a dozen ceasefire violations have been made by Pakistan over the last seven days across the border in the Jammu, samba and Kathua districts creating panic among the villagers. A BSF jawan was also killed on Wednesday in the Pak ceasefire violations.
