Islamabad: Talks with India and Afghanistan can take place on all issues, but without compromising of Pakistan’s national interests, said Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.
In an interview reported by Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Abbasi said he supports having a dialogue with both India or Afghanistan on the basis of parity.
Abbasi also cleared the air about providing security to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif by saying that it has always been duty of the government to provide security to political leaders. Radio Pakistan further quoted him, as saying that Pakistan cannot make progress without having peace and tranquillity in Karachi. But he also ruled out any deal for garnering MQM’s support in his election.
Abbasi said he will continue as Prime Minister of the country till he enjoys his party’s support.
The PM said he would contact other political parties for any changes in Article 62 and 63 of the Constitution.
