Pak Hands Over Indian Youth to Army in Poonch LoC

Jammu: In a goodwill gesture Pakistani troops have handed over an Indian youth, who had crossed over to other side of Indo-Pak border, to Army authorities along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

“The 22-year-old Indian national Mohammed Rashid, son of Sattar Din of village Degwar Teruan of Poonch district, who had crossed over to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) on June 12, 2015 was handed over by Pakistani troops to Indian authorities at Chakan-da-Bagh crossing point at LoC last evening,” Defence Spokesman said.

The youth has been handed over to police for further questioning, said the official.

Rashid, a contractual driver, had crossed over to Pakistan for the reasons still under investigation by the police, the Spokesperson said, adding that his father had registered a First Information Report (FIR) after he went missing.
