Pak Foreign Ministry seeks details about boat detained by Coast Guard


New Delhi: The Pakistan Foreign Ministry has contacted the Indian Foreign Ministry seeking details about the boat and its occupants which was detained by the Indian Coast Guard.

According to sources at Pakistan High Commission in Delhi, the Pakistan Government has sought the details about the boat which was detained on Monday near Gujarat coast by the Indian coast guard. It has been reported the drugs were being smuggled in the boat. From the boat 123 packets of drugs, Six mobile phones, more than one satellite phones and global positioning systems were recovered.

Eight Pakistani nationals were there in the boat. On Tuesday they were brought in to the forefront by the Indian navy.

In a statement Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit said, “According to the reports published in the Indian Media, the Pakistan Government has asked for detailed information about the incident. No official information has been conveyed so far. Pakistan is not satisfied with the behaviour of India.”
