Mumbai: There is big news for Padmavati. Now the film will not face any clash with Akshay Kumar’s starrer Padman.
Padman is going to be released on February 9, 2018 now. Earlier, the two big releases were getting clashed at the Box Office that was January 25, 2018.
However, the makers of PadMan have once again decided to shift the film’s release date, this time to avert a box-office clash with controversy-ridden Padmaavat, which is also coming in cinemas on 25th January.
“It is essential for them to release the film ‘Padmaavat’ as quickly as possible, so I agreed to move the release date of my film ‘PadMan’ ahead. It will now be released on February 9,” Akshay confirmed the news during a press conference in Mumbai on Friday evening.
Recently, the makers of Aiyaary also decided to push the release date of the action-thriller to February 9.
Earlier, when Akshay was asked about his reaction on the possible clash of PadMan and Bhansali’s period film, he had said, “It is not about competition, it is a very big day, a big week, so all the films can come. Both the films can release on that day. Every film has the right to release whenever they (makers) want, and I am happy for them.”
Also featuring, Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte, PadMan will be Akshay’s wife Twinkle Khanna’s maiden production.
