Kolkata: Trinamul secretary general Partha Chatterjee accused the opposition parties of trying to postpone the polls by making violence in the state.
Chatterjee claimed that supari killer is being used for this upcoming panchayat polls by the oppositions. Accusing the saffron party of giving a one-sided picture of the happenings in the state to the media, he said, “those indulging in violence and rioting are claiming innocence and blaming others. Our workers are being attacked. 5 TMC workers killed by the oppositions.”
Earlier BJP leader Mukul Roy said, “The Trinamul is killing democracy by misusing the police and administration on the pretext of polls. It happens in no other states in the country.”
The order by the division bench of the Calcutta high court on the panchayat elections has come as a shot in the arm of the opposition parties which tore into the Trinamul Congress over its legal battle which turned out to be an exercise in futility.
Chatterjee, who is also the state education minister, alleged that it is the BJP which is creating trouble.Further he alleged that our workers are killed.

Clashes broke out in several districts in West Bengal today between the TMC activists and opposition parties in continuing political violence during the filing of nominations.
Earlier TMC secretary general Partha Chatterjee accused the opposition BJP of trying to foment trouble in the state by “importing outsiders” from neighbouring states.
