Former state BJP chief and present party secretary, Rahul Sinha wants to utilise the verdict’s ‘Tribunal’ section as the space of retaliation against the ruling party. He said, “The Supreme Court expressed in its verdict that the election was not neutral.” It can be presumed that the BJP brigade is not worried about the Lok Sabha elections in 2019 after the court verdict on Friday.

CPM leader Rabin Deb said, “We all have to follow the verdict of Supreme Court but such a decision can destroy the reliability on WB.”

On the other hand, Bengal Congress Supremo Adhir Chowdhury said, “It was the murder of democracy in the Panchayat elections. Elections is Bengal is impossible without Central forces.”

The Supreme Court has turned down the pleas of CPM and BJP seeking cancellation of elections on over 20,000 uncontested local body seats in West Bengal. All these uncontested seats were won unopposed by candidates of the ruling Trinamool Congress.

The oppositions were waiting for the verdict of Supreme Court to resist against Trinamool-Congress in West Bengal. But now its a muse to the opposition after three members division bench of the apex court verdict on the uncontested win seats sentenced in support of the ruling party government and given priority to the decision of West Bengal election Commission.

There were series of allegations against the ruling party during the nomination submission period. Oppositions repeatedly said that the violence and agitation of ruling party sheltered goons have interrupted the process of nomination submission. So they knocks the door of Supreme Court of India.

After spending prolonged four months, the apex court came out with the result of ‘uncontestedly won 34% seats. State Election Commission are now allowed to announce the names who have won in their seats. So the list of 20,159 seats which were uncontested will be announced within few days.
