Oppositions cash in on Mukul’s ‘demotion’

Kolkata: Clipping Mukul Roy’s wings, TMC on Saturday removed him from his position of TMC General Secretary. While Mukul seemed calm on the decision, oppositions are taking a dig on the matter. Here is how the influential opposition leaders reacted on the incident.

Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya(CPI (M): CPI (M) leader Bhattacharya said that Mukul’s political influence was after his removal. He said that TMC was bound to take such decision as Roy got embroiled in the Saradha scam.

Abdul Mannan (Congress): The Congress leader said that Mukul was removed because he mentioned CM Mamata Banerjee’s name in commection with the Saradha scam. Earlier Mamata had warned Mukul not to indulge in anti party activities. Mamata lacks the courage to expel Mukul from the party.

Tathagata Roy(BJP): BJP leader Tathagata Roy said that the decision was an internal matter of TMC and it will be facing the pros and cons of the decision itself.

While there are many speculations about Mukul-Mamata relationship, only time will reveal what is in store.
