Opposition Parties Stage Dharna To Protest Against Demonetization

New Delhi: Members of Parliament belonging to the Opposition Parties, including MPs from Trinamool Congress, today staged a dharna near the Gandhi statue outside Parliament. Around 200 MPs from different Opposition Parties were present.

“Not a surgical strike, but carpet bombing on people”, “Stop the persecution of common people” and “Save poor people”, was some of the slogans on the placards held by the leaders.

Demanding relief for common people who are suffering due to demonetisation, Opposition Parties formed a human chain.

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has appealed to other opposition parties to register their protest on the roads. She has said that Trinamool will support any movement against the draconian decision of demonetisation.
