Kolkata: The state opposition parties have boycotted a meeting called by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday. Mamata has convened the 100th administrative meet in Burdwan on July 15.
Opposition parties including Congress, BJP and Left have declined Mamata’s invitation to attend the meet. Opposition leader Surya Kant Mishra lashed out at the CM on Monday. He said, “I don’t see any reason to listen Mamata’s rhetoric highlighting the fabricated claims of development in the state.”
On the other hand Prime Minister Narendra Modi has convened a key meet of NITI Aayog on the Land Acquisition Bill in Delhi. Mamata along with other CM’s have been invited in the meet. As per reports Mamata mailed to Modi expressing her inability to attend the meet as she is due to attend the Burdwan meet on the same day.
