New Delhi: Following the cancellation of the NSA level meeting between India and Pakistan, India continues to build pressure on Pakistan over the extraction of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim who has been on the run since 1993 Mumbai blasts and has been staying in Karachi.

In the meantime former Union Home Secretary and now BJP leader R K Singh has revealed that the was a planning to launch a covert operation to bring Dawood back to India but the operation could not be conducted due some corrupt officials of the Mumbai Police.

Disclosing details of the highly secret operation, Singh said that it was launched when Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the prime minister and current NSA Ajit Doval was the chief of the IB.

He said that the government had roped in some members of the Chota Rajan gang Dawood’s rival and they were undergoing training at the secret location outside Maharashtra where the Mumbai police officials who were in regular touch with the underworld Don appeared with arrest warrants against the members of the group due to which the entire operation failed.
