One killed, four injured in Pak ceasefire violation


Jammu: One civilian was killed and four others injured in the ceasefire violation by Pakistan in Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir. The Pakistani Rangers have been firing and using mortars and rocket propelled grenades since late Sunday night. Indian troops also retaliated to strong firing from the other side.

Morters, rocket-projectile grenades and automatic weapons were fired by the Pakistani troops targeting the forward posts. 82 mm mortar shells were fired. The shells also landed in civilian areas. An army jawan was injured as Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire on September 5, by firing on forward posts along the LoC in Poonch district.
