One killed, another injured as container hits bike in B’luru

Bengaluru: A major incident of accident was registered at Bengaluru. It was reported that, a man was killed on-the-spot and a woman was injured when a container hit their two-wheeler on National Highway-4 near Nandihalli on the outskirts of Tumakuru on Sunday night.

The police said that the deceased is identified as Narasimahaiah (40) of Herur in Gubbi taluk in the district and the injured woman is Jayalakshmamma (30) of the same village.

The two-wheeler, which was going towards Bengaluru, was hit by the container coming from the opposite direction. After the accident, the driver of the container did not stop and hit a crane coming from the opposite direction at around 11.30 p.m. Due to the collision between the container and crane, the crane and container caught fire.

Four fire engines rushed to the spot to put off the fire. The accident caused a traffic jam on the national highway. It took hours for the police to clear the traffic.The injured woman has been shifted to NIMHANS in Bengaluru.The driver of the container is absconding.A case has been registered in Kyatsandra police station.
