Washington: US President Barack Obama and Dalai Lama will be making a public appearance together at a high profile event in Washington which is also being attended by the exiled Tibetian spiritual leader.
The moves may face the wrath of China since Dalai Lama has been living in India after he fled Tibet in 1959 following a failed Tibetan uprising. Beijing accuses Dalai Lama of being a separatist leader trying to split Tibet from the rest of China.
Obama will be speaking about the importance of religious freedom on February 5 at the annual National Prayer Breakfast. Dalai Lama has also been invited to the event.
