New York: Walking through New York City’s Times Square at night, it’s hard to miss Lucky ( a naked show performer). In the meantime, the mayor says the NYPD will use its Times Square presence to crack down on situations where tourists are harassed or approached aggressively by the topless women or costumed characters.
Mitchell Moss, director of the Rudin Center for Transportation New York University, said the move was a serious overreaction.
In an exclusive interview with 1010 WINS, Police Commissioner Bill Bratton said on Thursday that he would like to see the streets restored to the area and the pedestrian plaza eliminated.
The topless task force is scheduled to report back on its initial findings by October 1st, at which point the change of seasons will also begin to have an effect on Times Square’s topless “problem”.
