Nurse Chops off Toddler’s Finger in Balurghat Hospital

Balurghat: In a shocking incident a nurse in Balurghat hospital accidentally chopped off the finger of an infant on Sunday night. She later dumped the finger in the dustbin to hide the incident.

As per reports, the child was admitted with diarrhea in the hospital. The nurse while cutting a drip bandage accidentally sliced the child’s thumb and fled the spot. The child’s relative later found a gushing wound spewing blood and a missing thumb on the same night ad reported the matter.

After the incident came to light, the relatives of the child staged protest in the hospital demanding action against the nurse. The protest was withdrawn after the hospital authorities assured them of appropriate action.

The child has been sent to Siliguri Medical College on Sunday night, where surgery will be conducted to reattach the severed finger.
