Mumbai: Veteran producer-director Ravi Ojha passes away after prolonged illness. He breathed his last at a Mumbai hospital on Monday night.
Ojha emerged as a popular producer in the early 2000s. He gifted a string of Bengali daily soaps. The notable ones include Ek Akasher Niche, Bou Kotha Kou and more. In a time when Balaji Telefilms was predominant in the prime time soap slot, Ravi Ojha’s productions kept Bengal glued to their television sets.
Ojha extended his production wing and came up with Hindi serials like Sasural Genda Phool and Gustakh Dil .He was responsible in shaping talents of the likes of Manali, Saswata Chattopadhyay, Debolina Dutta, Swastika Mukherjee, Rudranil Ghosh and more. He even produced a few films.
Despite coming from a completely different linguistic and cultural background, Ravi Ojha had successfully portrayed the emotions and knick-knacks of a Bengali household. His creations will remain etched in the minds of serial lovers.
