Kolkata: On July 1, Goods & Service Taxes (GST) implementation will complete the one year. The ruling party TMC has expressed that TMC supports the core idea of GST and it will continue for long. But the unprepared implementation and use of the GST has shown its inefficiency throughout the year. Derek O’brien took a straight position on one year completion of GST.
He said in a tweet, “We have already a part of Parliament Select Committee and State Empowered Committee on Finance Minister. We are making underlying the key points to attract attention.”
Trinamool's stand on #GST consistent. Support principle. Oppose unprepared implementation. We played key roles in Parliament Select Cmtee & Empowered Cmtee of State FMs in building consensus. Sunday GST will complete its one year. Narendra Modi already spreading the words that GST is the highest economic reformation in Indian economy since freedom. The way of implementation how GST came into action has always been criticised by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Though the idea of ‘One Nation, One Tax’ has been accepted but always been criticised by State finance minister Amit Mitra.
But TMC is not ready to provide any kind of political mileage to GST in a democratic structure. TMC will straightly oppose and gather people in support of their idea. If the federal front came into existence, they will definitely make an issue on GST.
