Mumbai: According to the latest developments, The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to not allow the Indian players take their wives and girlfriends (WAGs) along on the Sri Lanka tour which is scheduled to start next month, according to report in The Indian Express. "Most of the players on tour are just coming off a month-long break where they had enough time to spend with their families. And we've decided that their wives will not be allowed on tour," a top BCCI official told the newspaper.
A majority of the squad selected for the SL tour have been on a break from cricket since returning from Bangladesh last month.
Team India will also be without a head coach in the island nation as the BCCI is yet to name Duncan Fletcher's replacement. Team director Ravi Shastri will also be not with the team for the tour game beginning August 6. Shastri is currently away in England as a TV analyst with Sky Sports for the ongoing Ashes and will join the team on August 12, when the first Test begins.
