Kolkata: Speaking to the media at Nizam Palace in Kolkata, Mukul Roy, All India General Secretary of Trinamool congress said that there are no differences between him and the Party. There had been rumours that Roy had been sidelined within the party by Trinamool Supremo and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
On Saturday Roy had said, “The Party will take its own stand and I will take my own stand in the Saradha issue.” This comment of Roy had raised rumours that Roy, the so called No. 2 of TMC is distancing himself from the party.
Putting an end to all the rumours, he said, “There is no rift between me and the Party. I will fully concentrate in the campaign of Bangaon by election.”
Although Roy has tried to put an end to the talks about an internal rift within the TMC, the political circle is of the opinion that Mukul has issued the statement in order to avoid criticism.
On the other, State Law minister Chandrima Bhattacharya met Roy at Nizam palace on Sunday. Sources said that there could be talks regarding the hearing of the case filed in Supreme Court by TMC between the two.
