Kolkata: There seems to be no respite to students this summer. Inspite of the excessive heat, schools will remain functioning, as informed by the education minister.
Education Minister Partha Chatterjee said that, “Several districts are facing the wrath of excessive heat. But the education department has not taken any decision to close it down.”
Manik Bhattacharya, President of Primary Education Council said, “If any problem persists in taking classes in the districts in this excessive heat, then the school authorities might inform the department of the issue. For that particular reason, the department would send some recommendations to the government over the possibility of school time change.
But Partha denied what Manik claimed. Partha informed that he has asked the education president to look into the matter. On the basis of this, Manik Bhattacharya has lent out his support to Partha Chatterjee. According to the Education Council, the tentative dates for summer vacation in the state government schools might be May 7.
