Kolkata: The regional meteorological centre at Alipore has predicted that there will be no relief from rain in the next 48 hours as kolkata to get light to moderate rainfall in various parts of Kolkata.
The low pressure area hovering over Bay of Bengal has gained some strength, resulting in rain in the South Bengal districts. The situation was further complicated due to the formation of another low pressure trough.
Though some of the districts in South Bengal have received scattered rainfall on Sunday. As per the weather officials, the intensity of the rainfall may be reduced from Tuesday as the low pressure area over Bay of Bengal will start moving towards West and North-West Bengal.
According to Met office data, districts of south Bengal like Purulia, Bankura, West Midnapore recorded heavy rainfall. Approximately 70 to 190 mm. East Bardhaman, West Bardhaman, Jhargram recorded heavy to heavy rainfall around 70 to 110 mm.
Four South Bengal districts like North 24-Parganas, South 24-Parganas, Nadia and Murshidabad will receive heavy to very heavy rainfall in the next two days, while the other South Bengal districts will also receive moderate rainfall.
