Kolkata: As violence marred the ongoing civic polls in West Bengal’s TV footages depict suspicious persons intimidating voters at various polling booths in Bidhan Nagar area and sporadic violence is being reported.
However the reports are summarily junked by influential Trinamool leader of Rajarhat area Tapas Chatterjee. He said that no outsider or anti-social elements are present in the vicinity of the pooling booths.
When questioned citing various media reports, he said that it is a ploy to tarnish the image of Trinamool Congress.
On the other hand CPM has accused TMC of unleashing a reign of terror and unchecked rigging, specially in ward nu-3 known to be the strong hold of Tapas Chatterjee. The Left party has also withdrew its agents from pooling booths alleging threats and intimidation by Trinamool goons.
