No Need To Go To Puri, Mamata Makes Big Announcement At Digha


Digha: Chief minister Mamata Banerjee, soon after coming to power, promised to revive the tourism sector of the state. Digha was in her list too. The CM wants Digha to go beyond Goa in every way. Work begun too. The sea-city is being decorated accordingly. An international-level convention centre is being set up which will do several developmental works. Now Lord Jagannath’s temple is being added in the list too.

CM Mamata convened an administrative meeting at Digha on Thursday. From the meeting, Mamata announced that a Jagannath temple needs to be set-up in Digha. There is a small Jagannath temple near Jagannath Ghat at Digha. CM directed officials to renovate and decorate the temple in a bigger way. Ministers Shisir Adhikari and Suvendu Adhikari has been given the responsibility for it. They will have to make the plan and submit the report to the secretary.

Thousands of people visit Puri for worshipping Lord Jagannath every year. But Mamata Banerjee wants a similar picture at Digha too. Hence, she wants the temple in Digha to be done fast so that the people can come to Digha and come to worship and view the temple. It will also be a place where everyone will come.
