Kolkata: Fire and emergency services minister Sovan Chatterjee announced on Thursday that all shops having no fire license would still be relieved from tax for a year.

The shops having no fire license would be exempted from taxes for one year. But some extra expenditures will have to be incurred to enjoy this benefit.

This has already raised doubts and several questions in several spheres. In the last 5 years, big fire mishaps took place in West Bengal itself. Question arises as to how much fruitful would be such a decision when several fire breakouts point fingers at poor fire extinguishing infrastructures.
