New Delhi: The seven municipalities will not go under polls before June 15. Such was the order of the Supreme Court giving a stay order on the judgement of the Calcutta High Court. Earlier, the Calcutta High Court had issued an order of holding the civic polls of the unelected municipalities by June 16. Going by the order, the State Election Commission had issued a date for holding the polls on June 14 and the counting of votes were slated to be held on June 16. Challenging the order, the State Govt had moved the Apex Court which had its hearing on Tuesday. Dismissing the decision, the Supreme court had stayed the order saying that the election of the 7 municipalities could not be held by June 15.
