No Beacons For Ministers, Govt Officers: PM


New Delhi: In a move to eradicate VVIP culture, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has banned officials from using beacons (lal batti) on their cars.

From May 1, no central government official can use the beacons or “lal battis” which have become a symbol of VIP arrogance.

Only President, Prime Minister, Vice-President, Lok Sabha Speaker and the Chief Justice of India are exempt from the restriction, according media reports.
