Patna: Patna High Court On Wednesday declared the appointment of Nitish Kumar as the head for the JD (U) Legislative party on the basis of a PIL filed by Rajeshwar Raj, one of Manjhi’s supporters.
The High court termed the nomination of Nitish Kumar as the legislative party head as illegal. The court said that JD(U) had replaced the Chief Minister without proper procedure and the court also mentioned that the governor only can decided on the issue. Manjhi has refused to make way for Nitish kumar.
JD (U) had sacked Manjhi as the leader of the Legislature party and had put Kumar in his place to pave the way for his return as the CM but Manjhi had refused to resign.
Kumar, along with 70 MLAs from his party is in Delhi to meet president Pranab Mukherjee to prove his majority in the house and he is the only contender to the CM’s post. Kumar wanted to take the trust vote immediately to return to CMs post and had alleged that Governor KN Tripathi was denying him his Right.
