Cooch Behar: After the end of the election, BJP candidate Nisith Pramanik and party workers staged protest in front of the DM office in Cooch Behar. The BJP demanded re-election where state armed police served their duty in polling booths. On the other hand, TMC blamed BJP for the violence.
Later, the BJP candidate was asked to withdraw his position. Nisith Pramanik said that they will continue their position until their demand will fulfill.Central police observer Vivek Dubey said, “In the first phase, West Bengal observed peaceful vote. State Armed Police also assisted.”
BJP leaders have with West Bengal Election Commissioner regarding violence across 700 booths in West Bengal. They allege that violence is reported from those constituencies which are under state police. BJP state vice president Jayprakash Majumdar has demanded re-polling.
BJP delegation led by Jay Prakash Majumdar Vice-President and Sishir Bajoria, Member, Election Committee shall meet the West Bengal CEO at 2:30 pm today. The Meeting is to lodge a complaint against massive rigging and discrepancies in voting at the Alipurduar and Coochbehar Lok Sabha constituencies.
