Nine Taliban Killed in Afghanistan

Kabul: Roughly nine Taliban insurgents were killed in a clash with security forces in western Badghis province on Sunday, local officials said Monday.

The clash started in Jawand district in the province after the insurgents attacked a police outpost in the area, Badghis Police Chief, Abdul Raouf Taj said.

“The battle continued for nearly 10 hours and all the militants fled the area after a strong response by police force members,” he said.
