NIMHANS Siege Ends, ATS Shot Gunman Dead


Bengaluru: An hour long siege on Sunday at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuroscience (NIMHANS) in Bengaluru has ended with police Anti-Terrorist Squad shooting dead the gunman.

An undertrial prisoner, who was admitted to the hospital for psychiatrist evaluation had snatched a policeman’s rifle and opened indiscriminate fire. He was later cornered in a room and shot dead by police.

No reports of any other injury or casualty has been received so far.
