Nightclub Fire Kills 25 in Romania


Bucharest: A massive fire and explosion at a nightclub in Romanian capital Bucharest on Friday killed at least 25 people, said government officials.

Romanian media said the blast happened at the Colectiv club on Friday night, and a large fire broke out. The death toll was confirmed by Interior Minister Gabriel Oprea and Health Secretary Raed Arafat.

Mr Arafat said another 88 people were injured and were now being treated. Reports in some Romanian news outlets said fireworks may have been let off inside the club.
