Niamey: Thousands of civilians have fled from their homes in Diffa the town in the south west of Diffa following the raids and suicide bombings carried out by the militants of Boko Haram.
The attacks are deepening into a humanitarian crisis with thousands fleeing their homes. The area of niger is struggling hard to feed nearly 150,000 people who have run to escape the violence inflicted by the Boko haram militants.
The International Rescue Committee has deployed teams in Diffa and Zinder where the natives are the most badly hit and refugees have taken shelter.
Niger Military forces have claimed that they have killed 260 Boko Haram militants and some were arrested since February 6. Local people said that the flow of people out of Diffa continued on Thursday although the town was calm.
