New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids across 16 locations in Uttar Pradesh and New Delhi against Harkat ul Harm e Islam – a suspected terror module styled on the lines of the Islamic State.
It is suspected that the IS module had plans of carrying out attacks across the country – especially in Delhi and its adjoining areas. The NIA has reportedly detained several suspects during the raids and will question them.
UP ATS has confirmed that five persons have been arrested in Amroha. Most of the raids in UP have occurred in the western part of the state including Meerut, Hapur, Amroha and Ghaziabad.
