New Delhi: In a major breakthrough, National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials on Tuesday arrested Hyderabad ISIS module chief Yasir Niamatullah.
Also, NIA has arrested Athaullah Rehman, who raised funds for the dreaded terror outfit, ISIS. Earlier, five youths were arrested from Hyderabad by the NIA on charges of involvement in an alleged ISIS terror module.
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi had said his party would provide legal help to the arrested youths. Reacting to Owaisi’s statement, BJP MLA T Raja Singh had demanded his immediate arrest for announcing that his party will provide legal help.
Rehman was involved in radicalising the group members and he also administered Bayah – oath of allegiance – to Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi to the group members. Rehman used to participate in key conspiracy meetings.
Niamatullah, a resident of Hyderabad, was arrested for being a key member of the conspiracy group and for contributing money to the terrorist fund collected by the members of the group. Niamatullah also used to participate in key conspiracy meetings.
After their arrest, the NIA is seeking police custody of the arrested individuals.
