Barcelona: Riding on Neymar’s brace, Barcelona cruised to the last four stage of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night. The Brazilian scored twice in the first half as the Barca swept aside Laurent Blanc’s men to take a 5-1 aggregate at Nou Camp.
Despite the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marco Verratti from suspension, PSG headed into Tuesday’s quarter-final second leg with a mountain to climb having lost the first leg at Parc des Princes 3-1. Not being able to climb the mammoth task, PSG packed their bags out of the tournament.
Neymar made full use of Andre Iniesta’s brilliance and scored an early goal for Barca.Following that, a fine delivery from right-back Dani Alves, heavily linked with a transfer to PSG in the close-season, set Neymar up to head home his second – and his fifth in four games against the Ligue 1 champions this term – 11 minutes before the break.
