New Rail Refund Rule Comes into Effect From Today


New Delhi: New rail refund rule come into effect from today. Passengers will now have to pay double for cancelling tickets. The Ministry of Railways has amended its refund rules Railway Passengers Rules, 2015. According to the revised refund rules, cancellation charges irrespective of class have been doubled.

As per the rule, the first AC or executive class has been increased from Rs 120 to Rs 240, for second AC or First Class the cancellation charge has been increased from Rs 100 to Rs 200 and for the Third AC/ ACC/3A economy goes up to Rs 180 from Rs 90. According to officials this major move by the Railways would help the genuine passengers and check the misuse of ticketing activity by unscrupulous elements.
