New Mansarovar route to open from 18th June


NewDelhi:The External Minister has said the kailash Mausaravor Yatrathrough the new route via Nathula Pass in Sikkim will begin from 18th June.India and China had signed a bilateral agreement on the Nathula alternative route during Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit in September last year. The new route will help many old age pilgrims to fulfill their desire to undertake the Kailash Manasarovar pilgrimage.

The agreement provides for conducting yatra through Nathula in addition to the existing Lipulekh Pass in Uttarakhand. The route through Nathula will augment the capacity and reduce the hardship and journey time enabling many more pilgrims, in particular aged pilgrims, to undertake the Yatra.
