New Delhi: The Prime Minister’s Office on Friday handed over the first batch of 33 files (out of 58 files) of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose to the National Archives of India. The files were handed over to the NAI by prime minister’s personal secretary Nripendra Misra.

All 58 files of Netaji will go for further processing, preservation and digitization. The declassification of the files begins on 23rd January, the 118th birth anniversary of the leader whose disappearance 70 years ago still remains a mystery.

The Centre has been under pressure to declassify Netaji’s files since the West Bengal government declassified his 64 secret files in September.
