Nepal refuses Taiwan help in rescue operations

Taipei: The rescue team was put on stand-by since the Nepal government is giving priority to the aids being given to the earthquake devastated country by India and China.

At a press conference in Taipei Foreign Minister David Lin said, “The Nepalese told us that it would first accept such aid from neighbouring countries like India and Pakistan, considering the chaotic conditions in Nepal, and to take advantage of the golden window for rescue operations.”

China considers Taiwan as a part of its territory while Nepal doesn’t recognize Taiwan which is awaiting to be reunited since the split in 1949 at the end of the civil war.
